Volunteers Needed: School Visit in Hackney (Monday 7th July)

If you'd like to support us with a simulation for a group of Year 12 students, please get in touch!

I hope you’re having a great week!

At The Land Collective, we’ve been worked super hard over the past few months to establish stronger relationships with secondary schools across the capital to roll out our workshops.

As mentioned in a previous post, we prefer not to go into schools just to talk at students, we want to do things a little differently - but we need your help!

We’re looking for a few volunteers to support us with a property development simulation at Cardinal Pole School in Hackney on Monday 7th July. We will have two groups of Year 12s.

What's involved?

Students will work in small groups, each taking on a crucial stakeholder role (e.g., Developer, Council, Community Group, Agents, Investors). Their challenge will be to negotiate and collaborate to get a fictional local development built, learning about the various roles and real-world complexities involved in our sector.

Your role:

We'll place one industry professional on each table with a group of 5 students. Your role will be to guide and share your experience, helping the students flesh out their ideas and understand the practicalities of a career in property. It's a fantastic opportunity to directly shape early talent and provide tangible insights into different career paths within the industry, aligning perfectly with our mission to develop stronger talent pipelines.

Key Details:

Who: Professionals from across the industry.

Where: Hackney, E9.

When: Monday 7th July, 2025. We will run two sessions for Year 12 students:

Session 1: 09:00 - 10:40

Session 2: 11:05 - 12:45

If you're interested in being part of this experience and inspiring the next generation, please simply reply to this email by Wednesday 2nd July.

We will send a follow-up email with a more detailed brief and preparation materials to all confirmed volunteers.

Thank you for your continued support!
