A Year in Review with The Land Collective šŸ’«

What did we get up to this year and how can you get involved?

Hi Everyone!

Youā€™re receiving this communication because we have touched base in the past, youā€™ve registered as a volunteer or youā€™re currently engaged in one of our services. The Land Collective has accomplished a lot this year; without our partners' support across the industry, we wouldnā€™t have been able to do so.

So, hereā€™s what we have been up to over the past year!

šŸ“Site Visits

This year, exposure was a large part of our work. I often tell people that itā€™s one thing for them to read about it, itā€™s another to go out and see it for themselves. Taking our members out on-site to visit and walk around different developments, has been a brilliant way for us to spark engagement and provide a more interactive experience.

Within the sector, weā€™re proud of the projects that we work on - where possible, donā€™t shy away from having young people in to have a look around! Being able to tour students and graduates around these buildings, allowing them to ask questions and learn about the stakeholders involved has proven to be a hit with our members.

Weā€™ve found that the following development types garner a lot of interest:

  • Mixed-Use

  • Prime Residential

  • Hotels

  • Offices

šŸ’¼ Early Talent Recruitment + Prep

Weā€™ve worked hard over the years to ensure that our members come from a multitude of different backgrounds, to cultivate a truly diverse community. Itā€™s then up to us to equip them with the tools, knowledge and resources to thrive; which we have done through interactive CV workshops and reviews, speed mentoring sessions and invitations to numerous industry events.

As a result, this year, we have successfully placed 28 graduates, 5 summer interns and 15 work experience placement students into roles across the sector; ranging from commercial real estate, real estate finance, development, housing, infrastructure and planning.

Every event I attend with The Land Collective, everyone is open to sharing new information which fuels my passion and desire even more. I am able to see developments come to life, network and uncover industry insights at every event. This has definitely supported me in my applications. I am able to demonstrate why I am interested in property, highlight my extra-curriculars and professional skills like networking.

After a successful internship placement, Iā€™m very excited to learn from my new role at Knight Frank, I look forward to working with clients, viewing properties, working as part of a team and making a contribution to the industry.
